Things slowed to a gentle pace on day 2 with light A rig conditions and glorious sunshine greeting the fleet.
PRO Derick Priestly and his dedicated team fought hard to provide a fair course in a northerly veering breeze coming off the far bank mid morning but straightening late in the day for a trust test of boat and skipper.
At the sharp end Brad Gibson started the day as he left off on day 1 with a bullet only to experience a few afternoon wobbles showing a human side. Of those in the chase 2006 World Champion Martin Roberts and Peter Stollery reminded the fleet that class is not easily forgotten stringing together a number of top place finishes while other fancied skippers wilted in the late afternoon sunshine.
At the close of play and after a generous serving of Lancashires best Fish and Chips, a famous Fleetwood quiz and some team racing for those that just can’t get enough, all that was left was to drink to another day of fine M racing.
Thank you Fleetwood, day 2 was why we keep coming back with a smile and a cup to drink from.
Bring on Day 3
